Info:
shotahirama, not his solo album but his side-project, radical free/spontaneous music/art ensemble, The Electronoise Group (ENG) is back!
Their new album "Tapepoiesis" is a dedication album to legendary tape music community LAFMS (Los Angeles Free Music Society, The Lowest Form Of Music). ENG head shotahirama (now a novelist and still a laptop musician releasing some materials from Japanese sound-art label mAtter, and Re-Records from Hong Kong) is back on ENG music after their last album "Dokument 2006-2009". Bizarre, dada, surreal, all anti-real factors are concrete together as a hyper-reality tape music. This is their new masterpiece and it is a new epic for the noise-concrete music. Info:
Tokyo based sound artist, shotahirama's newest album "Unhappy American Lost in Tokyo", inspired by the ideas of person who has a dual nationality, multiple citizenship and explores themes of their loneliness, alienation, insomnia, existential ennui, and culture shock against the backdrop of a modern Japanese cityscape. Sounds move across a broad range of spheres from electronic based composition, through to evocative field recordings that seek to reveal those sound spaces largely ignored or inaudible. Capturing sounds as delicate as sand grains in motion. Shota uses laptop computers to makes multilayered compositions that blend synthesized melody and conventional musical instruments with harsh, irregular glitch-influenced sounds and washes of white noise. Shota also used amount of field-recording materials (taken by shota himself) to create concrete noise for dynamic sounds of drone. (-text by Re-Records)
